Year 5

Work for Year 5 pupils to access from home.

Guidance for Oak National Academy (KS2)

The government has launched an online school, Oak National Academy, this week.

There are many resources available on this website that will complement home school learning at this time and these daily lessons should be your priority when working at home.  Please follow the instructions below to access appropriate lessons.

Click on the link to Oak National Academy and select 'Online classroom'.  From there click on 'Schedule'.  This will then take you to a page to select your year group.  Once you have selected this, you can easily navigate to the day of the week and lessons you need to do.  Lessons 1-3 are suitable on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  Lessons 2-3 are suitable on Monday and Thursday.

Maths
Pupils will be receiving tasks to complete on MyMaths.co.uk and on FROG whilst they are absent from school.  For most tasks there are online MyMaths lessons that work through concepts and show pupils how to complete the tasks.

Pupils should aim to achieve a high score (green traffic light) and if they struggle should seek help by looking at the linked lesson or asking for support at home or searching on other websites such as BBC Bitesize maths.

In addition to the tasks they have been set pupils might also attempt independent tasks on MyMaths (using the search function or looking back at previous homeworks and improving them).

There are also lots of good revision guides available that can support pupils. Letts and CGP offer KS3 maths revision guides (the learning element) and workbooks (questions to complete).

Finally, the maths curriculum is on FROG in the curriculum section of the student dashboard.  In most cases, pupils will have worked through the topics in the order they appear in the document.

English
Students should access FROG to complete comprehension, writing and PAG activities.

Additionally, students should continue to read at home every day and fill in their reading records.

Lastly, please use https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize or https://readtheory.org/ for additional English activities.

Thank you for your support.
