Gosforth Academy is hosting 10 German pupils from the Elisabeth-von-Thadden Schule from Heidelberg this week.
Students get to find out what life is like in a British family and school whilst also exploring our shared cultural heritage. From Roman times and medieval castles via the industrial revolution and two world wars, we are now forging new friendships across borders with the help of a taskmaster style competition, ice creams and sand castles. Tynemouth Priory, Beamish, Durham and York are on the agenda as well as a goodbye party at Gosforth Academy. We are already looking forward to our return trip to Heidelberg in July 2026.
