View PostWe're proud to announce that Gosforth Academy has received the prestigious International School Award from the British Council! This recognition celebrates our commitment to bringing the world into the classroom, from global partnerships and cultural exchanges to a curriculum that builds international awareness and understanding. Our Principal Preit Chahal commented: "Gosforth Academy is a diverse community with over 30 different first languages spoken across our student population. We are extremely proud of our commitment to developing internationalism driven by our Languages Department but complemented by the curriculum in many other departments too. We know the benefits of opening up our students minds about what is going on across the globe and in some cases providing that first hand experience of life in another country. We feel this is an important part of the curriculum to create well-rounded students and are delighted that our work in this area has been recognised at such a high level." View PostWellbeing in Action! Today, our Character and Wellbeing Enrichment students took a mindful walk around the school grounds covering 1.5km and clocking up 2,500 steps. Using all five senses to stay present, they explored nature, discovered apple trees, and counted over 35 trees within the school perimeter. Next lesson: Care of the Mind... We'll be exploring how simple activities like colouring and meditation can bring 5 minutes of calm to a busy day. #WellbeingWalk #Mindfulness #CharacterEducation #CareOfTheMind #StudentWellbeing #NatureAndNurture #gosforthacademy #gosforthgroup #CreatingFutures
