    We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Gosforth Academy Sixth Form, a vibrant, inclusive, and ambitious community where students are supported to thrive both academically and personally.

At Gosforth Academy, we pride ourselves on the strength of our Sixth Form team, who are dedicated to guiding students through these crucial years. From experienced tutors and subject specialists to our pastoral and careers staff, every member of our team is committed to helping students reach their full potential.

    Meet the Sixth Form Team

    Our Sixth Form is led by a passionate and experienced team who work closely with students and families to ensure every learner feels supported. The team includes:

    • Deputy Principal: Post-16 (& Safeguarding Lead) 
    • Head of Year
    • Assistant Head of Year 
    • Competitive Applications and EPQ Coordinator
    • Progression Managers
    • Post-16 Admin

    Support and Wellbeing

    We place a strong emphasis on student wellbeing. Our support systems include:

    • Regular one-to-one meetings with tutors
    • Access to mental health and wellbeing resources
    • Academic mentoring and study support
    • A dedicated Sixth Form common room, library and learning spaces for independent and collaborative study

    The Sixth Form Day

    The Sixth Form day is structured to promote independence while maintaining a strong academic focus. Students benefit from:

    • A blend of taught lessons, supervised study, and independent learning
    • Enrichment opportunities including volunteering, leadership roles, and clubs
    • A flexible timetable that encourages responsibility and time management
