  • Gosforth Academy Remembrance Service

Gosforth Academy held a Service of Remembrance on 10th November, attended by staff, parents, military personnel, volunteer cadets, veterans, and members of our wider community.

This community service mirrored our Remembrance assemblies, delivered to students from all year groups. All events were student-led, with readings, music performances and the playing of The Last Post, followed by a period of silent reflection.

Gosforth Academy Principal, Mr Chahal, said, "Remembrance is an occasion which invites us to remember the courage of those who fought in wars past and present, and to recognise the impact of conflict on individuals, families, and nations. It is also a moment to reflect on peace - on the values of unity, compassion, and understanding that we strive to uphold in our daily lives. We are extremely proud of our students who performed magnificently, making these Remembrance events memorable."

A Gosforth resident contacted the school with the following message: "I just wanted to say the Remembrance Service this evening was fantastic. It was incredibly moving and I really appreciated the local approach to the whole service. Please pass on my congratulations for putting together such a fabulous combination of music, video and readings."
