If children aged 12-15 have not received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine through the schools roll out, there are lots of other ways they can still access the vaccine.
All of the places that you can access the Covid-19 vaccine in Newcastle are listed at: www.newcastle.gov.uk/covidvaccine. Sessions are added all the time, so please ensure you check for updates and the latest information. There are walk-in and booked appointment sessions at various community locations and these sites offer vaccines to those aged 12+, so anyone in your family that is due a first, second or booster dose can attend.
There are walk-in vaccination clinics at Grainger Market and Haymarket metro for those aged 12+. Staff are trained to assess Gillick competency, so young people can attend without a parent or carer if they wish to and are competent to make the decision for themselves whether or not to get vaccinated:
Fridays 10am-4pm Grainger Market
Saturdays 10am-4pm Grainger Market
Sunday 10am-4pm Haymarket
Tuesday 9am-7pm Haymarket
Thursday 9am-7pm Haymarket
If you prefer, you can also book through the National Booking Service by calling 119 or online at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ -
If you have specific access needs, you can state these when booking online, or over the phone and the staff at the vaccination centre will do their best to meet your needs.
