Our team of specialist non-teaching tutors will guide you through every step of your Sixth Form experience, providing support for you to achieve your academic ambitions and ensuring you take advantage of our programme of progression activities which prepares you for your next step.
Whether you want to pursue an Oxbridge or Medical application through UCAS or want to complete an apprenticeship, we have a targeted programme that will meet your needs. The outstanding range of extra-curricular opportunities aims to develop you beyond the classroom. We offer students the chance to become involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, or visits overseas including subject specific visits, World Challenge and Operation Wallacea expeditions. Recent years have seen students visit Belize, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, and this year, Cambodia
We are extremely proud of the contribution that Sixth Form students make to an extensive Peer Mentoring Programme which operates as part of the wider school. This plays a key role in Gosforth Academy’s Character Education initiative and proves to offer rewarding experience for those involved. Our vibrant Student Union raises money and awareness for a range of charities and enables students to set up and participate in a wide range of societies. This year, the Finance Society welcomed Gertjan Vlieghe to school for a lecture on his role on the Monetary Policy Committee.
