The EPQ holds UCAS points that are equivalent to half an A Level, but universities also value the development of research and independent learning skills that are necessary for the qualification and for university study. In some cases, universities may offer a preference to students based on this course or indeed give lower grade offers to these students.
If you are accepted, select an area of interest (possibly related to one of your A Level choices) and carry out independent research to produce a substantial project, using all the skills valued by Higher Education Institutions. Acceptance to the EPQ is subject to the quality of your research proposal and performance in your other A Level subjects.
