Location: The post holder will be based at one of our sites, initial location to be confirmed, but will be required to work across the Trust and regularly travel to our other sites

Salary:                        N9, £ 39,571 - £42,614

 

Gosforth Group is a fast growing multi-academy trust (MAT) currently comprising of 6 academies, two of which opened in September 2021, and a central MAT team.  We are looking to appoint a Health and Safety Manager who will work across the Trust and play an important role in supporting the MAT’s growth plans. This is a newly established post, forming a key part of the central MAT Estates and Facilities team.

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for the planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining of a variety of health, safety and welfare programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for staff, students and visitors. They will also hold responsibility for ensuring all MAT sites comply with legal and regulatory standards; that policies and procedures are robust, forward looking environmentally; and that academies are safe places of learning.  

Acting as the MAT Competent Person, they will drive and manage the Health and Safety function across the Multi Academy Trust (MAT) working closely with MAT Director of Estates and Facilities Management and Site Facilities Managers in ensuring that sites and facilities provide a safe, effective and high quality educational environments. Naturally, they will provide a proactive, customer-focussed approach, ensuring consistency across the MAT.

The successful candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate previous experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally within a diverse, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environment. They will be a creative thinker and have excellent communication, negotiation and time management skills along with a meticulous attention to detail.
