Our ethos of ‘create your future’ is always front and centre of A Level results days with student destinations being the primary focus rather than a fixation on grades.
At Gosforth Academy, we are delighted that over 90% of students achieved their firm or insurance university offer, which is outstanding given 250 ‘full service’ applications were sent to UCAS this year. Our students are leaving us for a wide range of excellent courses, including Engineering, Art Foundation, Medicine, Linguistics, Sport, Law, Games, Art and Design and Zoology at some very prestigious institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick and Durham.
Special mention must go to ten students who got three or more A* grades: Momen Ahmed, Aarav Bhatt, Charlie Bookham, Thomas Cowling, Fatimah Ghani, Patrick Hurrell, Hazel McKenzie, Poppy Moss, Finn Pendlebury and Millie Taylor. Achieving one A* is a huge achievement, but getting three is exceptional.
We understand that university is not the only option for further education. Some students have chosen apprenticeships in fields like accountancy, business, and engineering with organisations like the NHS and Seta, while others are taking gap years. We are proud of all their choices.
In terms of headline figures, we are delighted that Gosforth Academy results have held strong once again this year:
- 29% of entries at A*/A
- 57% at A*- B
- 80% at A*- C
With a 99% overall pass rate, we are very pleased with individual student destinations and overall school results. Gosforth Academy has always been a school with traditional values and longstanding success, but every year, staff and students work tirelessly to ensure this strong reputation is maintained. We wish our leavers the best of luck in the future and congratulate them on such superb achievements.
