We are delighted to report a hugely successful year of GCSE results at Gosforth Academy, with lots of “best ever” headline measures. This particular year group was superb in terms of behaviour and attitude but still had to contend with all the challenges of the post-pandemic landscape.
Some brief headline figures of Gosforth Academy’s outstanding results include:
- 82% of students achieved Grade 4+ grades in English and Maths including 88% in English and 86% in Maths.
- 67% of students achieved a Grade 5 in English and Maths
- 83% of students achieved a Grade 4 in two Science subjects
- 61% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in every EBacc subject
- The average grade for all entries was 5.6
Numerous exceptional performances have been recorded, including 29 students who got an average grade of 8 or more. However, special mention must go to Matthew Ansell, who managed a clean sweep of Grade 9s!
We look forward to welcoming back the majority of students to our highly successful Sixth Form in September, along with many new students from other schools across the North East. Some students will rightly be pursuing other routes and we wish them the best of luck too.
