Shortly before the Easter holidays, Gosforth Academy welcomed visitors from its three partner schools in Spain, France and Germany. Earlier in the year, two groups of our students spent a week in our partner school in Spain and on work experience in France.
This week, students from Spain and France stayed with their Gosforth exchange partners to experience life at an English school in addition to going on trips to York, Durham and Edinburgh. This cultural enrichment was completed by a German exchange teacher from Heidelberg, who provided German taster sessions to our Middle School and extra support for our exam classes, as part of the UK-German Connection host teacher programme. Gosforth Academy is always delighted to host students and teachers from other countries as it allows the whole school community to engage with people from different cultures and backgrounds and practise language and intercultural skills. We are now looking forward to July, when our German exchange will be going back to Heidelberg to sample life in Germany for a week.
