As our school gradually puts the challenges of the last few years behind us and a brighter horizon beckons, Curriculum Enrichment Day is a good time to reflect and to acknowledge our many inspiring students who strive to help others. This video features just a few of our talented students …
- Leo Turnbull - developed a digital advent calendar app as an alternative to buying a physical one. The app which was downloaded over a thousand times, helps to reduce plastic wastage and raised money for the charity Mind.
- Jack Elsdon – is one of the most accomplished jazz musicians the school has ever seen. In the lead up to last Christmas, Jack organised and orchestrated a charity concert celebrating musical theatre. The event was well attended and raised over £2,000 for Alzheimer’s and Meyloma charities.
- Matthew Fullerton and Max Swinburne – took the initiative to form the Spanish Society in school to provide extra curriculum activities such as teaching, cooking and salsa lessons to students at Great Park Academy.
- Ella Sutton – last year Ella represented England at the Taekwondo European Championship Finals in Spain and is due to attend the finals in Slovenia this year.
- Chloe Paxton – playing football since she was 9 years old, Chloe is the only female football player in our Year 10 first team. One of our top players, Chloe also represents England, playing in their U16 girls team.
- Holly Spreadbury – her musical contribution to school assembles and events demonstrates her range of talent which has been recognised in various theatre performances outside of school.
- Amrit Singh – a visually impaired student with the condition Osteoporosis who shows great courage and determination to overcome the challenges he faces every day. Amrit’s positivity is infectious, he enjoys school life, is passionate about music and enjoys playing the bongo drums and the harmonium in the school’s Fusion band.
